Ballymena Outdoor Wedding – Alison & Neal

the Garden Across The Road | Kells | Ballymena Wedding

Who said you could not have an outdoor wedding in Northern Ireland? I had the pleasure of photographing Alison and Neal's beautiful wedding in August at The Garden Across The Road. This little beauty is located outside Kells, Ballymena, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The Garden Across The Road is totally stunning, from greenery to a short walk across the road taking you to a woodland that is just magic. A lake sits hidden within the woods, with small rowboats and jetty with an outhouse.

For any outdoor wedding, this is a venue not to be missed because it has everything you need and would want for an outdoor venue! On-site parking facilities are available and indoor area for the reception. If your ever in the area go check it out as it is worth taking the beauty of this little hidden gem in!

For the wedding day, it turned out to be a cloudy overcast day. A huge relief from the downpours it had forecast just a few days prior and all week we had nothing but heavy rain! The weather today was just perfect for Alison and Neal's guests who were able to grab a drink and take in the beautiful surrounding gardens and walks.

There was no bridal prep this time so it was straight to the venue to grab a few images before it all started. Alison looked stunning, I loved the colourful bouquet supplied by Cherry Blossom Flowers and the dress it was perfect, matching so well with the outdoor theme and overall personality of them both.

Neal appeared calm with all the lads giving their support. A few look up at the clouds was either to check the weather or disguise a teardrop or possible nerves, either way, he was where he wanted to be and needed to be.

After a wonderful ceremony, everyone grabbed a drink and a few games were tossed onto the grass by Alison. Quite a few guests including myself were having a go at them and we were having great fun! Then it was onto the smaller family and bridal party group photos which did not take long and we were all back enjoying the party soon after.

From games to cigars, to Karaoke and DJ, it came the moment one guest went through the side of the gazebo. Fantastic day, serious amounts of laughter and just perfect in every way.

It was a fun wedding, an outdoor wedding in Northern Ireland always carries risks due to the weather. Today however nothing could dampen the spirits of what was a perfect wedding and I wish Alison and Neal the very best of luck in the future.
